No matter how I approach the problem, Energy is expensive. Fossil fuel is the cheapest energy in the short term. The only way I can see to change the balance of power is to raise the price of fossil fuel significantly. I will not fight other approaches but I have no faith in their success. Many things are coming to an end. I would like our egalitarian technical society not to be one of them. Tallow candles are horrible illumination.
