Race to Sanity
The Obama administration’s education policy is a model of balanced governance.
Race to Sanity
I haven't read all the comment but I'm sure there are a lot bashing teachers, school, seniority system, teachers pay etc ... To those I ask, what should a teacher earn to be able to live a middle class life like you and me? Should teachers be required to work more than an eight hour day? Should teachers be require to spend off time grading papers or tests? An acquaintance who is a teacher recently commented that she received an e-mail from a parent which said "We will not tolerate any homework as our kids are involved in other after school activities." Sooo what is a teacher to do with parents like this.
- David Brooks is a wonderful example of the fruit of the poison tree. He built a shining palace on the shifting sand. His axioms are false though they appear reasonable. His logic though flawless in itself is wrong in its premises and thus wrong in its conclusions. If children are trained to academic failure at an early age, academic success will elude them in any environment that does not constrain behaviour. Prison seems to work.
