Video: Migrants Overwhelm Island of Lesbos

Thousands of migrants have come ashore this summer on the Greek island of Lesbos, a popular tourist destination. Some of them have to walk more than 40 miles to get to the main port of Mytilene.

Living in a Barn, Without the Hay

Lori and Leonard Bruno, owners of three Ligne Roset showrooms, reclaimed an old Pennsylvania barn and turned it into their home.

I would happily do a barn like space.  The hay and straw served as insulation. With the body heat of the animals the spaces stayed at workable temperatures.  No live flames
can be allowed with dry fodder and bedding.  I don't know how Siberian peasants managed.
Insulation and a warm floor along with a bath and kitchen are necessary.
Opening the space with windows would help.
