The Maserati looks good.

"BMW Group said Monday that it planned to introduce plug-in hybrid models for all of its core brands, which include BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce. The drivetrain technology, called eDrive, will be similar to the setup used in BMW’s i3 and i8 plug-in hybrids. BMW said it would upgrade its plant in Dingolfing, Germany, to build the drivetrains. (MLive)"

Hybrid is conceptually a bad plan.
It puts the battery in the fossil carbon business.

Return of Focus Hocus Pocus

"I’ve been getting correspondence from people saying that I need to respond to Tom Edsall channeling Chuck Schumer on how health reform was a mistake, Obama should have focused on the economy.
The thing is, I responded to this argument four years ago, and everything I said then still applies. When people say that Obama should have “focused” on the economy, what, specifically, are they saying he should have done? Enacted a bigger stimulus? Maybe he could have done that at the very beginning, but that wouldn’t have conflicted with the effort to pass health reform — and anyway, I don’t hear many of the “focus” types saying that. So what do they mean? Obama should have gone around squinting and saying “I’m focused on the economy”? What would that have done?
Look, governing is not just theater. For sure the weakness of the recovery has hurt Democrats. But “focusing”, whatever that means, wouldn’t have delivered more job growth. What should Obama have done that he actually could have done in the face of scorched-earth Republican opposition? And how, if at all, did health reform stand in the way of doing whatever it is you’re saying he should have done?
I have seen no answer to these questions."

Q. How can I get all of the email addresses stored in my Gmail contacts list out of the program before I close the account?
A. To export your Gmail contacts list to a comma-separated values (.csv) file that can be imported into another mail service, or opened in a spreadsheet program, open your browser and log into your Gmail account. Click the Gmail menu on the left side of the inbox and choose Contacts.
Go to the More menu at the top of the page and select Export. In the box, click the button next to “All contacts” and pick an export format for the file; you can also export the data as a vCard file, which works nicely with the OS X Contacts program. Click Export and save the file to the computer, where it will be ready for import into another mail program.

Email will transfer the list between machines.
Put the list in the text block or the file transfer feature used for sending pictures.
Send it to yourself and open it on the other machine.

I have been holding my email list at aol in the cloud.
They do not charge for broadband usage.

Politicians should respond as Dr. Tyson eventually did: Stop stonewalling, admit error, note that such things happen, apologize and move on. But the rest of us aren’t off the hook. It is just as misguided to conclude that someone who misremembers must be lying as it is to defend a false memory in the face of contradictory evidence. We should be more understanding of mistakes by others, and credit them when they admit they were wrong. We are all fabulists, and we must all get used to it."
