Environmental Group Proposes Options for Breached Pond at Jamaica Bay in Queens

New York City Audubon will release a report on Tuesday making the case for restoring part of the West Pond at Gateway National Recreation Area, of concern to birders and environmentalists.

I am not going to worry about what is done. 

The cheap way would be to restore the berm and armor a low portion as a spillway to prevent future blowouts.  There is very little fresh water wetland around the bay.  There is salt marsh in many places.
