How Frothy Is the Tech Boom?

The business of selling tech businesses had a great 2012, with more mergers, and apparently more private sales of corporate equity, than ever before. It is still not enough to absorb the large number of start-ups valued at $1 billion or more. Sooner or later, they will have to conduct an I.P.O.

Shooting in the Dark

New research suggests violent games can stir hostile urges and aggressive behavior in the short term, but it is not clear whether the habit increases the likelihood of committing a violent crime.

In Europe, a Risk-Filled Choice for Britain

As the country’s economic fortunes sag, the prospect of leaving the European Union jeopardizes Britain’s access to trade with the Continent.
International Trade and World Market; European Sovereign Debt Crisis (2010- );

Britain needs more inflation relative to Europe.  That will drop the relative price of British manufactures.  Demand will spike up and labor will go back to work.

How High Should You Be on High-Dividend Stocks?

Investing with dividends in mind has been especially fruitful lately, but some analysts worry that too many people have hopped aboard the bandwagon lately.

It’s Not Easy Being Green

The strongest argument for a major government response to climate change is the obvious argument: climate change.
Alternative and Renewable Energy; Global Warming; United States Politics and Government;

"In the end, the strongest economic argument for an aggressive response to climate change is not the much trumpeted windfall of green jobs. It’s the fact that the economy won’t function very well in a world full of droughts, hurricanes and heat waves."

These benefits are all in the distant future.
The managers that are the problem are sure they will be enraptured soon.

Markets are about costs and prices.  Its' money all the way down.
