India Digs Under Top of the World to Match Rival

India is building a tunnel to bypass the dangerous Rohtang Pass as part of a plan to match China for regional and global power.

Go for it but how about a snow shed? A familiar problem. Just worse and more of it.

Interesting engineering. Test boring is well known. The New York vehicular tunnels solved the ventilation problem. The contractor was a poor student? Turbo diesels work very well even at these altitudes. India is supposed to be good at these things.
