For Obama, Steep Learning Curve as Chief in Time of War
The president has made war decisions after agonizing deliberation but also with dizzying swiftness, while he and the military have had a sometimes edgy relationship.
A military coup is always a possibility.
I do not see a military solution in South Asia. The Military apparently does.
A limited time to show progress is perhaps the best we can hope for and expect to see a willing withdrawal.
The Military spending is a stimulus to the economy. The end of that spending will increase the civilian pain. The already delicate political economic situation could be eased with a repeat of the G.I.Bill. I do not see that happening on the grounds of unaffordable government spending.
We must exit and the constitution must survive the exit.
