Do Taxes Narrow the Wealth Gap? - Room for Debate
Obama wants to tax the rich. Republicans say he's promoting class warfare. Should taxes bridge the income gap?
"What role, if any, does tax policy play in creating a wealth gap in the United States?
Let's answer the question.   Yes, it plays a big role.
Most(?) of the revenue comes from payroll taxes.  These are capped at the first $120,000 of income and are flat to there.
The working poor pay the costs of government.  New wealth is built on capital gains.  Capital gains are taxed at a very low rate and only when they are realized.  We have class warfare.  The rich are waring on the middle class and winning.  Naturally they object to attempts at organized opposition.
