Bill That Trump Is Vowing to Veto Strengthens Hacking Defenses, Lawmakers Say
Julian E. Barnes, NYT > U.S. > Politics - 38 minutes ago
Additional powers to actively hunt down hackers across federal agencies could have given the government more of a chance to detect the recent Russia hack more quickly, they said.

The U.S. goverment does not need another internal security operation.
The F.B.I. is tasked with the problem.
Computer security is the responsibility of the manufacturers and operators.
The operators install the software and the jellyware.
"Lose lips sink ships.".
The failure is in software design and operator training.
The hardware works as designed.
"Nothing is fool proof.  Fools are too clever."

“Get Biden Elected Then We’ll Influence Him From The Left”
Ian Welsh, Ian Welsh - 13 hours ago
This is an age old cry. It was made about Obama and it was made about Clinton and while I wasn’t following politics then, no doubt it was made about Carter. In my adult lifetime it hasn’t worked that way. Certainly Obama had no interest in what the left thought, except perhaps as a marker […]

I will vote for the lesser evil every time.
Biden is a southern democrat.

U.S.justice is not simple.
The several states are sovereign and have their own rules for killing.
It is far from wise.
