Supreme Court Blocks Special Elections in North Carolina
Justices blocked a ruling by a trial court, which had ordered special elections after deciding that the state’s legislative map had been tainted by racial gerrymandering."The Supreme Court’s brief order included no reasoning, and it said the temporary stay of the lower court’s decision would last only as long as it took the justices to consider an appeal from state officials."
The Supreme Court is being gentle with North Carolina.
The court will have to invalidate a great deal of federal law to rule in favor of the state of North Carolina.
If that happens there is the possibility of open revolt.
