The Horror Before the Beheadings

The death of James Foley in August at the hands of Islamic State jihadists in Syria was a very public end to a hidden ordeal shared with nearly two dozen other Westerners.

Law Lets I.R.S. Seize Accounts on Suspicion, No Crime Required

Using a law designed to help catch drug traffickers, racketeers and terrorists by tracking their cash, the government has gone after run-of-the-mill business owners and wage earners.
Banking and Financial Institutions; Crime and Criminals; Federal Taxes (US)

There are those who hate the I.R.S.
"On Thursday, in response to questions from The New York Times, the I.R.S. announced that it would curtail the practice, focusing instead on cases where the money is believed to have been acquired illegally or seizure is deemed justified by “exceptional circumstances.”"

 The practice is abusive
A change in the law is appropriate.

The American Dream Is Leaving America

Fixing the education system is the civil rights challenge of our era, especially as the United States is being eclipsed in economic and educational mobility.
Education; Income Inequality; Civil Rights and Liberties

Unequal education loops with unequal  income to produce a helix of disaster.
The rich and the ignorant like it that way.
The system must be corrected.
