"Mr. Barreto, the longtime Republican adviser and head of the Latino Coalition, a business group, was even blunter.
“If voices in the Republican Party are as strident as they are right now, and we are not focused on this community, there is a serious possibility that we could lose a generation of voters,” he said.
We will never win another presidential election, ever,” he said, “if we don’t fix this problem.”"

In New Calculus on Smoking, It’s Health Gained vs. Pleasure Lost

An economic analysis buried in regulations requires weighing public benefits against the happiness smokers might lose in quitting.
Smoking and Tobacco; Regulation and Deregulation of Industry; Happiness; Economics (Theory and Philosophy)

Emphysema and lung cancer along with other cancers and heart disease are a terrible and slow death.
The evaluation of happiness   should include the terminal wards of public hospitals.
One could start by surveying Hospice nurses.

Study Shows Third Gene as Indicator for Breast Cancer

Mutations in the PALB2 gene raise risk in women by almost as much as mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2, the genes implicated in most inherited cases.

I am missing a number for the prevalence and distribution of these mutated genes in the general population. Multiple mutations in individuals are of interest.

I often find I am totally ignorant of all of a group of films.
Under those circumstances all choice is random.
I can apply knowledge and look for novelty by known crafts people.
I can avoid known makers of schlock.
I can select prize winners.

In my usual condition of ignorance I will pick last.
I depend on the others in the group to dispose of the unviewable junk.

How Important Is a Perfect Lawn When You’re Selling Your Home?

It’s very important, because curb appeal is crucial.
Lawns; Grass; Gardens and Gardening; Real Estate and Housing (Residential)

We are far from thinking of curb appeal.

I would rather build gardens than maintain them.
If the structure is solid and dry and the space is generous that is enough.  I understand plant material.
The ground can be tilled and seeded.
No curb appeal is much cheaper.
