In States Seen to Be Tilting Left, Voters Defy Democrats’ Forecast

A powerful lesson for both parties emerged Tuesday: Demographic shifts that are gradually reshaping the American electorate cannot overcome a difficult political environment and a weak message.

Women in Both Parties Are Disappointed by Their Modest Election Gains

In Red and Blue States, Good Ideas Prevail

I was wondering why.
The thought of employment for Edward Snowden occured to me.

"Q. You have started warning about the future of virus attacks on the so-called Internet of Things, which involves many of our everyday household objects.
A. Yes, first you have to understand whether there is a risk or not. You have to understand how the attacker might profit by attacking this particular device. For example, many years ago my engineers and myself analyzed the iPod. It’s a computer; it’s possible to infect it, yes. But we realized that there is no reason to do that. No money. It is just a device.
Thinking about the new devices, like smart TV, I think the next victim of the attacks is smart TV. You are watching the TV, the TV is watching you, and then the blackmail: pay money. They hijack computers, they encrypt the data in the computers and they send a message: Send SMS to the paid number to receive the activation code, it will get the system back to you. Smartphones are the same. They block the smartphone and there is a message: ‘Pay money to unblock it.’"
