      Singapore Gets Wired for Speed
Singapore could soon be the first country blanketed with a fiber optic infrastructure so fast that it would enable the contents of a DVD to be downloaded in only a few seconds.

      Hold the Halo
Somehow the Catholic faithful are supposed to believe that priests, or at least the better ones, are men with no sex drives. Is there such a thing? The fundamental hypocrisy of this central myth of priesthood rather taints the whole church. The pedophiles only intensify the taint. Were the Pope to adequately punish the pedophiles, he would still be ignoring the fundamental shaky ground on which this institution of priesthood stands.

The celibate priesthood of the Roman Church is a political and not a doctrinal artifact.  It was crucial to differentiate between the hereditary civil powers and the Church.
The monasteries were also very handy as a place to isolate troublesome individuals too important to execute.
