A Better Way to Ban Alex Jones

“Hate speech” is extraordinarily vague and subjective. Libel and slander are not.

The legal standards are subjective in origin and execution.
There is no good way to ban Alex Jones and his ilk.
What can de done is a change in the business plan
of social media companies to end the practice of associating subscribers by opinion.  Social media would gather fewer advertising dollars but there would be more visible variety on the net.
People should make their own friends.

Video: Why Social Media Platforms Are Booting Alex Jones

After months of increasing their scrutiny, tech companies have deleted content from the right-wing provocateur Alex Jones.

A muzzle is the wrong solution.
Stop advertising him by showing his posts to others.

Social media is a bad concept.

It is irresponsible advertising.

Fighting Bannonism at Home and Abroad

Steve Bannon’s anti-immigrant agenda is still unpopular at home. But that could change if we’re not careful.

Steve Bannon is a war monger.
He approaches his insane objective through rational means.
Assassination may be the best solution.
I do not expect him to become sane.

No, Tariffs Aren’t Going to Pay Down the National Debt

The budget deficit is growing much faster than any increase in tariff revenue.

The national debt is not a problem.
The interest is manageable.
Taxes will reduce it in good times.
These are not good times.

This is the worst thing about Trump trade policy I've read yet. Tariffs are one thing; tariffs that are enforced selectively, at the discretion of political appointees, are much worse -- an open invitation to corruption

A government program provides few rules for how companies can use or store the biometric data that verifies passengers’ identity, opening it up to potential abuse.
