The rail network has been excellent.
It now is overloaded.
It should have about twice the capacity it has now.
To get that capacity would require more tracks in more lines.
The investment appears prohibitive in our political circumstances.
Higher fares will limit ridership. It is a solution that will destroy the service industry in the inner city.
There are no slums to house the workers.
The slums house the middle class and the children of the rich.
