Understanding of the world deserves to be preserved and propagated.
Our understanding grows and changes under its own accumulation.
Attempts to fix our understanding as it is or as it was must be resisted.
Arguments over historical understandings such as theologies must be suppressed for the general health and well-being.
Timbuktu was an internal argument in Islam. I can regret the damage to the historical record but the fight is trivial from the outside.
Real people died to no good purpose.
