The woods and gardens of Walden Pond began and ended with Threau's book.
I entered through the front cover and exited through the back cover. 
I can revisit that world in the same way I found it.
He did not put his human social life between the covers of Walden. 
I did not find it there and have not searched for it elsewhere.
He does speak of the Irish ice cutters as a curiosity.
