Moving a Mezuza

A superintendent proves skilled at an important task outside his routine.

There is no distinguishing mark of a Rabbi acting in a civil capacity.
I will participate in any ceremony you can get.
I have no wish to join any organized religion.
Sooner is better.   As soon as you can is best.

More Space, and More Projects, in a Place Upstate

A couple discover their hidden domestic sides after buying a second home in Ulster County.

Keep digging.

I have not been happy with Ulster county in the past.

‘The Indigenous American Berserk’ Strikes Again

Blaming one side in the political debate for the acts of individuals won’t get us anywhere.

I was told when I was interested fifty years ago that Berserk is a response to embarrassment.
I see no reason to modify that opinion.
Fix the political process and most of the craziness will be recognizable as individual troubles.

Video: For Sale: A $7 Million Wild West Town

As a family-owned amusement park opens for the summer, its owners of 43 years ponder its future. Step inside Donley’s Wild West Town in Union, Ill. in 360-degree video.

The "Wild West" dream should have ended more than a century ago.
Sooner is better.   As soon as you can is best.

Instant Pot, the Latest Prized Kitchen Gadget, Has Staying Power

The practically foolproof Instant Pot lets you throw a bunch of stuff in it and have dinner in 30-ish minutes. But it might bump your slow cooker off your countertop.

There is little that is new in kitchen gadgets.
This is a pressure cooker with temperature control.

Mueller Seeks to Talk to Intelligence Officials, Hinting at Inquiry of Trump

The special counsel’s request for interviews with three officials is the latest indication he will investigate whether the president obstructed justice.

The president obstructed justice.  He cannot be prosecuted while in office.

Talking to Boys the Way We Talk to Girls

Stereotypically macho messages limit children’s understanding of what it means to be a father, a man and a boy, as well.

Try it.

The Questions Jeff Sessions Didn’t Answer

Readers are upset by what some view as the attorney general’s stonewalling at a Senate hearing.

Jeff Sessions is not a man of his word.

The Strong, Silent Type Who’s Also a Little Rude

Also: a best friend who is conceited; bitterness about a coffee date; and solving a case of the missing thank-you notes.

All appropriate contrition.
I have been running short of sleep.

Explaining Executive Privilege and Sessions’s Refusal to Answer Questions

Attorney General Jeff Sessions refused to answer senators’ questions about his conversations with President Trump, but Mr. Trump has not asserted executive privilege to keep them secret.

Jeff Sessions will have to go to court.  Executive privilege has not been asserted.
Contempt of congress and contempt of court.
