When the rules change the fleet will change.

How to Build a Sustainable City

In every city there is an answer to the world’s environmental and social crises.

People must have incomes.
Much of that is "Taking in one an other's laundry".
Some must pay the farmers. Some must pay the manufacturers.
External trade is necessary.
A city is a net resource sink.
A machine for making food and fiber into shit.

I hold no brief for internal combustion engines. 

We can and should do better.  Entropy always increases.
