Trekking With the Gorillas of Rwanda

With the mountain gorillas of Rwanda, which share 98 percent of our DNA, we are looking into a mirror, and they are looking impassively back.

I do not feel much need to visit my distant cousins.
I would happily addmit them to citizenship.

Federal auto safety regulators are now looking at the possibility that side airbags, not just those in front of the driver and front-seat passenger, may be defective.

The problem is the propellant.

Uniting Behind the Divisive ‘Cadillac’ Tax on Health Plans

A tax on expansive health plans would remove an incentive for employers to pay wages in the form of insurance. That could benefit the system over all.

Leveling up is the better way.

After seventy it is luck and genetics.

If people are going to destroy themselves indirectly they start early.

F.B.I. Chief Links Scrutiny of Police With Rise in Violent Crime

James B. Comey, the F.B.I. director, said he had a “strong sense” that scrutiny of the police has made officers less aggressive and emboldened criminals.

It is more likely that there is more poverty triggering desperate efforts to pay the bills.
New entrants to crime are less skilled at nonviolent methods.

After Officer’s Killing, Search for Gun on Harlem River’s Floor

Teams of police scuba divers are working at all hours, during slack tides, looking for the .40-caliber handgun used in the shooting death of Officer Randolph Holder.

I can think of no reason to avoid a metal detector.

The hand search probably feels more certain.

The magazine indicates where the decision was made to get rid of the gun.
He would have wanted to make the search as difficult as possible.
The capture point would mark the furthest point where the gun could have been tossed.
The police checked how far a 9mm Glock could be thrown.
The gun will be found.
A side scan sonar would be a next step.
