An Ancient Fish Is Running Out of Time

A proposed dam on Montana’s Yellowstone River threatens one of the last wild populations of an endangered fish that dates back to the dinosaurs.

"For all of the adaptations that have enabled this fish to have such a long run, however, the pallid sturgeon is in serious trouble. Twenty-five years ago, the federal government concluded the fish was in imminent danger of extinction and placed it on the endangered species list, where it remains today."

The Army Corps of Engineers must end their projected dam.

"2015 U.S. Open Results — Day 4

No. 9 Garbiñe Muguruza is in a tight second-round match with the British qualifier Johanna Konta. They have split two sets in tiebreakers and are heading to the third set on Court 17.
Konta, 24 and ranked 97th, has won 14 matches in a row. Muguruza has won only one match since reaching the final at Wimbledon — her first-round match at the Open.
The second-set tiebreaker included some controversy. With Konta serving down 3-5, Muguruza hit a big forehand that was called out. Muguruza challenged and it showed the ball was in. Muguruza was awarded the point, instead of the players replaying the point.
Konta was confused and angered by the call, which made the score 6-3 and gave Muguruza set points. She had a lengthy discussion with the chair umpire and the linesman.
Muguruza won the set two points later."
