Shocked, Shocked, Over Hospital Bills

It should not be impossible to restrain hospitals from charging so much, but few attempts have been made, an economist writes.
Health Insurance and Managed Care; Hospitals; Nonprofit Organizations; Prices (Fares, Fees and Rates);

Medicare for all is one effective approach.  Transparency is another.  Regulation is a third.  Getting everyone covered by regulated and subsidized insurance may be workable.
What we have now is not workable.

Oklahoma: Curb on Texting While Driving Is Blocked

A Republican-controlled House committee on Thursday derailed a bill to ban texting while driving, citing concerns that it would be hard to enforce and jeopardize personal freedoms.

Just bad reasoning.
Such a law would be near self enforcing.
Texting drivers would be liable in crashes.

The timing of this editorial is puzzling.  I did see the "Chinese army hackers" fuss.  I saw no great echo in the technical press.
