Are Americans More Prone to A.D.H.D.? - Room for Debate
The high-energy, risk-taking traits of attention deficit disorder may be part of the nation's pioneer DNA. Or maybe we're just overmedicated.
There is a good probability that it began as fiction in the U.S.
I would like to see the evidence.
Donna Ford, professor of special education

Makes the claim it was selected for by our adventurous past.
Not real likely.  As many came for other reasons and were happy to live quiet lives in town.
Makes the claim that it is purely cultural.  A fiction.
Possible but if there is only culture there it should be correctable.
There should be a large literature of early recovery.  I am not aware of such.
Contends that it is cultural and racist.  Again there should be a literature or late diagnosis and early recovery.  Show numbers.
Another claim for a cultural fiction.  Possible, not real probable.
There should be a training program with a record of successful "cures".
If it were a parental ploy for additional time on important examinations there should be a late lump in the diagnosis numbers as those examinations approach.  The chart of diagnosis against age should show a peak late in high school.  Nice try.

      Two Straight Athletes Combat Homophobia
“Two Straight Athletes Combat Homophobia - http://nyti.ms/kqEXvl”
It reads like a good second career choice.
I can be taken to such events and will be respectful.
The problem, though very real, is not going to take much of my attention.

A.D.H.D. Is a Misdiagnosis - Room for Debate
By making an A.D.H.D. diagnosis, we ignore and stop looking for what is really going on with the child.
Possible but if there is only culture there it should be correctable.
There should be a large literature of early recovery.  I am not aware of such.

A.D.H.D. Is in the American DNA - Room for Debate
You had to have special qualities — some would say special craziness — to get on a boat and come to America.
No, just no.  There are a great many reasons, most of them profoundly rational.

The Role of A.D.H.D. Diagnoses in College Admissions - Room for Debate
When competition for good colleges is very stiff, the quest for an educational advantage may be a small but disturbing source of growth in overall U.S. disability diagnoses.
The case would show statistically.  No statistics are presented.

The Problem With Genetically Engineered Salmon

I did not see a follow up on the Eagan article. I will dig into the FDA lists if you wish.

The big problem here is the pressure on the endangered species act. The wild fish are worth encouraging in any way we can.
Farmed fish are a poor substitute and ecologically expensive.
