Same-Sex Marriage Is a Mixed Blessing
We shouldn’t have to have a wedding to affirm a loving relationship or secure health benefits. It looks to me that this was all about a name.In much of the country the name is the thing itself and the law recognizes the name and attaches rights to the name rather than to the thing. My choice is the thing and the name. Others may choose differently and many have. Our law must make room for the facts. This woman is suffering from nerves. There is no tort here.
I must sleep.
