U.S. Plans to Expand Aid to Troubled Homeowners

This is all they should have done in the first place. What amazes me the most is how republicans never complain about the trillions they have borrowed to give rich people tax breaks, the trillions they have borrowed to pay for two wars that have been mostly just a profit center for military contractors, the trillions that they borrowed to give 0% interest loans and other bailouts to wall street and to banks, the trillions they have given away to the health insurance industry with their medicare "advantage" privatization scheme, which is now amazingly more costly than real medicare, the trillions they have completely wasted through their deregulations that have set free the real criminals in society, and yet, when it's time to invest in actual people in this country, they are all up in arms.

This is part of the republican program. There will be very little effect.

The program wipes out the second mortgage debt without compensation to the bond holders and the servicing banks. It is nice noise with no effect but to stave off the axe for a few months more.

The cash investors will not recover their money.
