Chicago Police Say Boy, 9, May Have Been Targeted in Fatal Shooting

The police said they did not have a motive and were “still looking at more angles” in the killing of Tyshawn Lee, who was shot multiple times in an alley on Monday.

https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20151105/auburn-gresham/police-give-update-on-tyshawn-lees-murder-this-afternoon

"CHICAGO — Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee was lured into an alley and executed, likely because of his family's gang ties.
McCarthy joined community activists on Thursday at a news conference near the scene of the shooting at 8000 S. Damen Ave. where he also slammed Tyshawn's father Pierre Stokes for refusing to cooperate with police.
"This is an innocent child. This is a 9-year-old child .. targeted, lured to this spot and murdered," McCarthy said. "We're dealing with cowards. I don't even have words for this quite frankly." "

Mercedes-Benz Recalls 126,000 Vehicles Over Problems With Airbags

The automaker said airbags in 126,000 model-year 2008-10 vehicles might either inflate at improper times or not deploy during a crash.

"Last year, there were three inadvertent deployments in the United States, but Mercedes said the investigation was complicated because the vehicles either had flood damage or had been in a previous crash. It wasn’t until last month that Mercedes, studying another deployment this summer, concluded that a recall was needed."

Benz is behaving properly.

Toxin Taints Crabs and Kills Sea Mammals, Scientists Warn

Record-high ocean temperatures have contributed to a problem that poisons shellfish and kills sea mammals.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudo-nitzschia

"Pseudo-nitzschia is a marine planktonic diatom genus containing some species capable of producing the neurotoxin domoic acid (DA), which is responsible for the neurological disorder known as amnesic shellfish poisoning (ASP). It was originally hypothesized that only dinoflagellates could produce harmful algal toxins, but a deadly bloom of Pseudo-nitzschia occurred in 1987 in the bays of Prince Edward Island, Canada, and lead to an outbreak of ASP.[1] Blooms have since been characterized in coastal waters worldwide and have been linked to increasing marine nutrient concentrations.[2]"
