The Border Patrol has traffic checkpoints up to 100 miles north of Mexico, confining undocumented immigrants to a small world and, in the extreme, blocking children from specialized medical care.

The immigration laws are insane.
We can allow the hopeful to work for a pitance or we can pay the hopeless enough to make field labor look attractive.
This is not a choice.  The hopeful will work for the most attractive wages they can find.
