Famines kill the parents and ruin the children.  The children who die in a famine are the lucky ones.  Malnourishment stunts and twists brain development.

Presidential Debates: To Spar Is Not to Govern - Room for Debate
Jimmy Carter's besting of Gerald Ford in 1976 did not foretell anything about his ability to handle the domestic and foreign crises that led to his defeat in 1980.
This man did not live in the same world I lived in.
    Injuries in sparing are accidental.

Yahoo Can Learn From Apple - Room for Debate
It is not too late for a faltering Yahoo to reverse its decline, provided that it is led by a committed leader (preferably a founder).
Not likely.  The niche is filled.  Ariana is under contract.

Can Yahoo Be Rescued? - Room for Debate
No foundering Internet giant has ever recovered. Will Yahoo go the way of AOL and MySpace?
These virtual giants keep misunderstanding their businesses.  What they do is gather attention and hold it.  What they sell is the fringe of that attention.  If the sold part becomes obtrusive, the attention goes away.
