  There are less harmful, less expensive and more sensible alternatives to building a $700 million bridge.

  The extant bridge cannot be upgraded.  

  The temptation is to build for a future that is not coming.

  Why have a bridge here at all?  Would a rail tunnel do the job?

  Would adding a local span at the down stream crossing be better?

  
  

  I looked at Google maps of the area.  

  This is a realestate development fight.  

  leave them with the extant bridge and let them choke.  

  Sprawl is not a right.
