Is it charity if it is not voluntary? Giving away other peoples money without their consent looks like theft. Taxation requires government action, a cooperative decision not requiring universal consent. The presidential campaign check off is an earmark of taxes, not an additional tax. Tips are earned. Make it a charitable contribution that can come off the income tax. The check off suggested is panhandling.
