What is with Dowd that she feels she has to use every column she writes about a trip to Saudi Arabia to take an insulting pot shot at Israel or Judaism? This time it is complaining that if you are a women you are "squeezed" into a small slice of the Western Wall. For the record, there is a large plaza in front of the Wall where men and women mingle equally; it is only when you walk down to the base of the Wall itself that there are separate sides for men and women, just as there are in any Orthodox Jewish synagogue. I have known many women who visited and prayed at the Wall (including many relatives of mine) and can't recall one of them complaining about being "squeezed". One wonders if Dowd bothers to talk to anyone or get any facts before she writes her stuff.
