Devils Earn Valuable Point in Overtime Defeat of Flyers

Adam Henrique’s power-play goal 2 minutes 58 seconds into the extra period may prove pivotal as the Devils fight to make the postseason.

"BRUINS 4, WILD 2 David Krejci broke a tie in the second period, Jonas Gustavsson made 31 saves, and Boston defeated Minnesota in St. Paul.
Krejci added an assist in Boston’s sixth straight road victory. The Bruins are second in the N.H.L. with 39 road points.
After the game, the Wild fired Coach Mike Yeo. Minnesota has lost seven in a row and 13 of 14. The Wild tied the longest home winless streak in team history at eight games (0-5-3)."

Chase Elliott Wins Daytona 500 Pole

The rookie Chase Elliott, 20, kept the No. 24 Chevrolet on the pole for a second straight Daytona 500, becoming the youngest driver to land the lead spot in the race.

"Nascar disallowed Daytona 500 qualifying runs by Kevin Harvick and Brian Vickers of Stewart-Haas Racing. During postqualifying inspections, officials determined that the track bars on the cars were not in compliance with specifications. Harvick and Vickers will start at the rear in their qualifying races Thursday."
