"Audi is planning to get into the hot hatch game — in Europe at any rate — with its new S1, a nameplate the automaker brought to fame on rally circuits during the 1980s. Powered by a 231-horsepower 2-liter 4-cylinder engine that can take it from zero to 60 miles per hour in 5.8 seconds, the S1 will come in 2- and 4-door hatchback configurations. (Digital Trends)"

Mexico’s Illusory Cure

Local defense groups look better than the drug cartels now, but they could turn out to be just one more illegal army.
Vigilantes; Drug Abuse and Traffic; Drug Cartels

The self defense forces or vigilantes could easilly develop as they did in Columbia.
It does not have to happen.  If the money went away they and the other bandits would fold up.  If the Government were to recruit and train them
They could be a local militia working under command and control with central government support.
The requirement to be self supporting is the road to chaos.

How to Be a Better Valentine, Through Economics

An economist offers three tips from his field on making the day special for your beloved. They don’t include flowers.
Dating and Courtship; Economics (Theory and Philosophy); Gifts; Holidays and Special Occasions; Love (Emotion); Valentine's Day

"This Valentine’s Day, show your affection through economics. Signal how much your mate means to you through a carefully thought out and personalized gift. Then make your mate even happier by investing in yourself. Finally, stop and appreciate your partner – “The One” may not exist, but that doesn’t mean your partner is not “A Really Good One.”"

 Trying.
All I can give is time and attention.  You have those.
I have invested in myself.
I have a high opinion of you.
I will have no other growing relationship.
