Plan to Let Barges Park on the Hudson Meets Resistance in ‘River Towns’
Officials and many residents say a plan to create 10 anchorage sites on the river would be a step backward for communities that have worked hard to shed their industrial pasts.https://www.google.com/search?q=ghost+fleet,+hudson+river&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi-vdWf88TOAhWB1h4KHaOCC2IQsAQIMg&biw=1024&bih=639

Moving Braken Crude by barge from Albany is a bad idea.
The Standard Oil refinery in the meadow lands should be closed.
There is no guarantee of profit in real-estate or the oil business.

In U.S. Jails, a Constitutional Clash Over Air-Conditioning
Many jails in the South lack air-conditioning. To plenty of prisoners, and some federal judges, that effectively amounts to cruel and unusual punishment. The lock ups should be airconditioned.
So should the prisons.

When Police Are Poor Role Models for One Another
A federal report described what I saw while on the Baltimore police force: it has a culture that conveys an “us versus them” mentality. As long as police are "an army of occupation" there will be community troubles.

Matches or Lighter Fluid: Which Is Better for the Environment?
The answer to which is better for the environment when you’re camping isn’t as obvious as it might seem. There are many factors to consider.I use a butane lighter because it works when wet.
I carry a few curls of birch bark as tinder. It also works when wet.
So much for a wood fire.
I carry a Peak1 and a miniature butane torch. They work when cold and wet and are legal in the high peaks where wood fires are not allowed.
Heat when needed is the important point.
I can be pure at home.
