Authentic Mexican Food Amid a Nuevo-Taco Craze

Three restaurants in Connecticut draw fromgenerations-old family recipes and traditional methods.

"That’s not to say, Mr. Bautista added, that the newfangled taco restaurants, which may take more liberties with traditional fare, don’t have their place. “Some of them are really good,” he said. “But on their days off, all their chefs eat here.”"

He Said His Car Had Been Stolen; the Police Say He Was Doing the Stealing

Not long after August Watkins reported the theft of his car, he was identified by the authorities as the suspect in a wave of robberies in Queens and Brooklyn.

We must get control of the opioids.
Either we make them very cheap allowing the addicts to die quickly
or we offer maintenance for those not ready to die or kick.
Very probably we will do both.
The profit in dealing is such that long term control is impossible.

The officials have it right.
She was lapped on purpose.

The Causes of Shorter Life Expectancies in America

Readers analyze recent findings that link differences in life spans to geography.

The systemic spread of life expectancies deserves comprehension.
When we have conclusive evidence of causality we can effectively argue for corrective action.

Geography’s Role in the Life Expectancy of the Poor

A study provides strong evidence of the positive effects that state and local health policies can have on people’s lives.

There is correlation.
Causality is not yet demonstrated.
Corrective action can be begun.

Nicotine is an addictive drug.
Though it is not an opiode the course of the addiction may be similar.
As the e-cigarette becomes less satisfactory they will be replaced with more powerfull

Taking On the Ph.D. Later in Life

As doctoral programs become more flexible and students seek to enhance or change their careers, enrollment of older adults grows.

If I were to go back to school I would study aesthetics.
It is a part of art and design I least understand.

The Argentine steakhouse, which opened in August, has a traditional menu and rustic décor that honors the homeland.

Los Angeles Joins Debate on Force After Police Killing of Homeless Man

More than 20 years after Rodney King was beaten, the city has entered a vigorous new debate about the police’s use of force on civilians and minorities.

It should not take a murder by police to stimulate the debate.
Police need to be more skilled at subduing a prisoner and much more reluctant to kill.

Let us work things out.

Man Killed in Police Shooting in Queens, Authorities Say

The man had fled after he was approached by plainclothes officers, and reached for a gun in his waistband during the ensuing chase, the police said.

Do not carry open alcohol on the street.
A drink on the street will cost a hundred bucks.
Do not carry a gun.
A gun without a license will cost about a thousand and weeks of time.
Even more do not run from the police.
Running from the police carrying a gun will cost your life.
