Plains has struggled in ways familiar to many towns in the
Midwest. A grocery store, some residents believe, would afford them more
than just fresh food.
Supermarkets and Grocery Stores; Rural Areas
Small town residents tend to be the "left behind".
These are not stupid though they may be limited in mobility.
They use microeconomics every day.
The cost of food includes the cost of getting it home and preparing it.
The town needs a market, a green market with a staff so it can have extended hours.
An attached community kitchen could do semiprepared foods. A bakery is a natural addition.
