We can play with portraiture.
Selfies have not satisfied.
We may have to find a painter of portraits.
I am not up to a "Picture of Dorian Grey".

Only a quarter of the way into the 2014 election cycle, a variety
of political ads are making waves not just for their effectiveness, but
also for their zaniness.
Political Advertising; United States Politics and Government
The G.O.P. noise machine is deaf and willfully blind.

Cuttlefish can alter their color, texture, and apparent shape.
This extraordinary camouflage allows them to hide in plain sight against
many different backgrounds.
Camouflage; Fish and Other Marine Life
Seawater is a very effective blue-green filter.
No other sunlight penetrates more than a few fathoms.
Notice that the chromatophores are in the red portion of the spectrum.
They behave as shades of grey in a monochromatic world.
Shades, texture and disruption hide the cuttlefish.
It is a living example of dazzle paint.

The writer and director Jeremy Saulnier narrates a sequence from his film featuring Macon Blair.
Movies
I enjoy violent movies.
The fantasy satisfies some need in me.
"Pulp Fiction" will remain fiction.
"Chinatown" is too close to our reality.

This weekend in New York: two Andy Warhol exhibitions, Neil
Patrick Harris playing a transgender rock star and Ballet Preljocaj’s
“Snow White.”
Art; Theater; Dancing; Culture (Arts)
I saw the film: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedwig_and_the_Angry_Inch_%28film%29
I did not need to do it again.
Andy Warhol: On the wall he did not get into my head.
I met the man and was unimpressed.
Ballet does not tell stories worth a damn.
Enjoy it for the spectacle it is.
Music and motion in costume with lighting and stage dressing is plenty.

The New York Times film critics review “Brick Mansions,” “The German Doctor” and “For No Good Reason.”
Movies
I would watch "Brick Mansions" on a quiet night. "The German Doctor" I would need to be dragged to.
If the alternative were "For No Good Reason" the effort would not be large.
This is not an "A" list group.

Our financial illiteracy is costing us much more than we realize.
Accounting and Accountants; Banking and Financial Institutions; Frauds and Swindling
Wrong because incomplete.
THE VALUE OF THINGS IS A VARIABLE.
It depends on supply, demand and location.
The value of acts is similarly variable.
Nothing is simple or straightforward.
Willful innumeracy is intolerable.
Moral calculations I would avoid.
I do not have omniscience.
Gnosticism is self deception.

Muslims and could generate prejudice against them.

I do not have an answer.
I expect the film is inflammatory.
It would not be acceptable to the right wing if it were not.
Any film would raise screams from the Salafi.

Lay the incident to the individuals. Leave Islam out of the film.

For now, Cliven Bundy appears to have won his standoff with the
federal government over cattle grazing in Nevada. But if the authorities
have moved on, Mr. Bundy has not.
Land Use Policies; Ranches; Cattle
I understand the federal government's reluctance to fight a repeat of the civil war at any scale.
Revolting tax payers regularly lose in court. Getting Cliven Bundy to court seems to be the problem.
I expect the federalized national guard could cut the Gordian Knot.
