I would like a port of Android to Linux.  
Very quickly there would be copy-left workarounds  for the Apple patents. 
The hardware is not in contention.  
"Walled gardens" and bad basic design are the problem.
It is hard to get around copyright protections on drivers.
The kernel of android is supposed to be open source.  I will have to study on that.

 Today was a Bank Holiday in Britain.
