N.Y.U.’s Opponents Threaten Open Spaces

If the plan’s opponents succeed, municipalities will be less likely to allow their open spaces to be used for recreation and other outdoor purposes.

NYU is not in good odor.
I would not object to their plans being frustrated.
I also understand the objection to a parkland designation for these strips.
The parkland designation must be less than the absolute described here.
If it were so absolute the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Tavern on the Green along with the water filtration plant in the Bronx would be forbidden.
A parkland designation and a temporary easement  during construction would
be enough.

The Court and Online Threats

The Supreme Court was right to reverse the conviction of a man who posted graphically violent messages on Facebook about his former wife and others.

"“Wrongdoing must be conscious to be criminal,” Chief Justice John Roberts Jr. wrote for a seven-member majority. In the age of the Internet, when anyone can post anything for the world to see, it was an important affirmation of the need to protect speech, and to require the government to meet a stricter legal standard when trying to punish people for their words alone."
