Near the North Pole, Looking at a Disaster

Arctic warming may cause a global crisis. The time to prepare is now.

If this is what you have been doing it is a very good thing.

My reading of the article finds an assumption that such a disaster would be finite in extent and duration.

That is wrong. any such disaster would continue for at least several decades. Planetary engineering would not be effective on a shorter time base.

Many human settled areas are only a few feet above sea level. Any two foot rise would make them uninhabitable. Much of that population will not be content to rot and starve in place.

Southern Louisiana has become uninhabitable for those without trust funds. We are hearing the screams as the population is forcibly relocated again.
