Computers at Home: Educational Hope vs. Teenage Reality

Researchers measuring a home computer’s educational value to a schoolchild in a low-income household are finding that test scores tend to go down, not up.


A wonder. Leisure Suite Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards is not in the curriculum. There is no exam in first person shooters. Who could have known?

Computer literacy is required in the "real world" but not by teachers as yet. The School Board does not yet compute.
