When the Ties That Bind Unravel

Therapists for years have listened to patients blame parents for their problems. Now there is growing interest in the other side of the story: What about the suffering of parents who are estranged from their adult children?

I was wondering what to say about this if anything. The problem is real.

I do not know how to speed the healing. Slowing it is very easy. All I can really do is listen and give bad advice. Talk helps. Silence just lets things fester. Listening is most important. Orders have no place after a rupture if it is to heal.
