Teenage Insults, Scrawled on Web, Not on Walls
I think it's even more disgusting that the mother hacked into her daughter's Formspring without her knowledge. That is how you break trust, not how you protect your daughter. From a teenager's perspective, not trusting your parent leads you to rely on more online, secretive ways of letting off steam. Parents, just talk to your kids. Teach them the dangers of the Internet as well as the positives, and teach them to have thick skin. Don't be like this mother who is asking for even more grief and trouble than she could possible imagine.
The mother's pain will be private, at least for the moment. She has not confessed her spying.
I think the Formspring thing is an example of peer pressure. Let us see if it is durable.
Social acceptance is worth any price to some. Then "Crush " videos are pleasurable to some.
"Crush" comment strings? It reads as though the participants are prepubescent.
