There is only one solution. It is the same as in the corrupt world of finance -- the Bernie Madoffs and the "banksters", Goldman Sachs and billion dollar bonuses. CLAW IT BACK. CLAW IT BACK. So the laws protect these greedheads and their lifetime pensions at 44? CHANGE THE LAWS. No matter what they tell you, you are not sheep -- PEOPLE OF NEW YORK, PEOPLE OF NEW JERSEY....citizens of the USA. You CAN change the laws. You can make the greedheads pay. You can put the banksters and union officials IN JAIL. Why should Madoff be alone? He needs company, I say! Start putting the worst offenders in jail and see how quickly the system starts policing itself. People like Mr. Tassone in the article (retired at 44 with over $100K in pension) are not formally criminals, but they have taken advantage of the system, and cheated us the taxpayers, and they need to repay their THEFT. He should have to repay at least 1/2 of what he has taken, and be forced back to work until HE IS 65-67!!!! Repay the last four years of loafing on the taxpayers dime. We work. They play. Most Americans have NO retirement plan, NO PENSION WHATSOEVER...many of us (like my husband) worked over 22 years for the same company and had their job off-shored -- their pensions lost forever -- or their companies went bankrupt (like my father-in-law) and saw their pension cut by more than half and their "lifetime" health care disappear -- while these greedheads sit there drinking our public coffers dry. Fail to do this, and we will not be "Greece" -- we will be so bad off that Greece looks like a picnic in paradise. Your grandchildren will be fighting feral dogs in the street for a piece of rotten meat -- that kinda of bad. CLAW IT BACK. CLAW IT BACK. CLAW IT BACK.
