The Limits of Policy
Well done Phil in the Mountains today! You took all the words out of my mouth. So Brooks, what about it? You finally said it -- why do we get all het up about politics when it seems to be the small bore, incremental positive stuff that builds strong and salutary cultural effects over time? And poor policy (like, say, almost killing of an indigenous race, stealing their land and warehousing them in the desert), tends to have disastrous effects. Apart from the obvious fact that some politics lends itself to those small bore, good works incremental stuff. And some -- Republican and Blue Dog -- would pursue those disastrous-making policies? Nah, no reason at all to get carried away about politics.
Good enough.
