The Joys of Jumpology

The photographer Philippe Halsman, whose portraits are at Laurence Miller Gallery, got his subjects to drop their masks by jumping.

I disagree with this reviewer.

The mask is what is presented by requesting a very simple performance.

Colour would just distract. I am going to have to try dumping the color information.

Fast film and large format. Tri X is grainy. filters for clouds. Natural light most of the time. 4X5? big lens. Not a stranger in the darkroom.
