  • What Every Girl Should Know

A thousand years ago, popular birth control methods in the Western world included spitting into the mouth of a frog, eating bees and wearing the testicles of a weasel. In Córdoba, Spain, which was supposed to be on the scientific cutting edge, wom...

    Trying to Outrun Race

I'd say the Tea Partiers are about the same bunch that supported Ross Perot back in 1992. I don't remember anyone calling them racist even though both groups are overwhelmingly white. Could the allegations of racism have anything to do with the perception in 1992 that Perot was likely to take votes away from the first President Bush who was running for re-election, while in 2010 the Tea Party is likely to take votes away from the Democrats in the congressional election?

White Pages May Go Way of Rotary-Dialed Phone

Think of how environmentally damaging it is to by a paper newspaper like the Sunday New York Times that weighs a pound, lasts less than 24 hours, and takes five years to degrade? Add in all the gas required to deliver it to your house, then remove it from your house and suddenly it seems like an environmental crime in progess.
