Cuts to Child Care Subsidy Thwart More Job Seekers
When I was in high school in Lousiana my mother work for the state welfare department as a social welfare visitor. She would go into the homes of those on welfare to see how the children were doing and if the mothers were keeping them clean and such. She came home frequently and at the dinner table would tell some the God aweful stories of how a large percentage of the mothers (no fathers were present) failed to change diapers, keep the childrer clean, and so on. So much for that program. Maybe the current one's should be scrutinized more and less taxpayer money provided to the recepients. Duh. Too bad presidents cannot serve more than two terms and President Clinton not elected again. He certainly would be doing better than the current president. ONWARD THROUGH THE FOG.
Pretty thick fog. The problem is that good child care cannot be had for an affordable price, so this commenter wants there to be less money to pay for child care. Does not compute.
What does the failure of welfare mothers to care for their children have to do with subsidizing child care for working mothers? It does indicate the need to be selective among potential providers.
